You call or book online, and we give you a two-hour arrival window. We call when we're on the way. Before anyone touches the dryer, we look at where the vent runs, how it terminates, and what the dryer is telling us, then we tell you what the job involves and what it will cost. If the run turns out to be longer or worse than what you described on the phone, you hear about it before we start, not after. We work in Cardiff and the rest of coastal North County, and most jobs take under an hour.

The coast changes how lint behaves. Morning marine humidity means clothes come out of the washer into damp air, cycles run longer, and lint packs wetter — it clings to duct walls instead of blowing through. That's the local version of the condensation problem you'd get in a cold climate. Salt air is the other half of it: galvanized hoods corrode, damper flaps seize open, and finches and towhees move in. Inland it's a different job. El Cajon, Santee, Escondido, San Marcos and Vista get 90 to 100°F afternoons and single-digit humidity during Santa Anas, and fine decomposed-granite and chaparral dust gets drawn into garages and laundry rooms and mixes with the lint. Housing era matters more than most people expect. A 1950s to 70s single-story ranch usually vents through a stud bay to an exterior wall or straight through the garage wall, four to ten feet, often still on the original crushed flex. The 1980s to 2000s two-story stucco tract homes across San Marcos, Carlsbad, Santee and east Escondido put the laundry upstairs in a hall closet, which means a 15 to 30 foot vertical run to a roof jack, or a long soffit run with several 90s in it. Condos and attached townhomes stack laundry in interior closets with no exterior wall anywhere close.

On site we bring a rotary brush on a flexible vent line, a vacuum that captures at the source, and an anemometer to read airflow at the hood before and after so you can see the difference instead of taking our word for it. We pull the dryer, disconnect the transition hose, brush the full run from both ends where we can reach both ends, and clear the hood and damper. We work behind every common dryer, gas and electric, stacked units, and the compact machines in condo closets. If the flex behind the dryer is crushed or the hood is corroded past sealing, we'll say so and quote repair or a full re-run separately. Some calls end with us telling you the vent is clean and the problem is the dryer itself, or a lint screen nobody's washed in a year. We'd rather do a short inspection and send you off than clean something that didn't need it. What moves the number on a cleaning is run length and how many elbows are in it, whether we can reach the termination from the ground or need to get on a roof, and whether there's a bird nest or a seized damper at the hood that has to come apart.
